Scope of Works

• Inspect kit and site access, confirm parts and instructions

• lay out panels and hardware and check for damage or missing items

• assemble frame, walls and roof per manufacturer instructions

• fit doors, hinges, locks, shelves and internal fittings

• anchor or fix to base where required and adjust doors and seals

• treat or seal timber edges if requested and advise on maintenance

• clear packaging, remove small debris and demonstrate operation

Small flat‑pack cupboard: 1–2 hours; small garden shed with pre‑cut panels: 2–4 hours; larger sheds or jobs needing a second person, base levelling or part replacements: 4–8 hours. Factors that extend time include poor access, uneven base, missing/damaged parts and adverse weather

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• do you include unpacking and packaging removal in your price?

• will you need a second person for large panels and is that charged separately?

• are you insured (public liability) and can you provide recent references for similar jobs?

• will you anchor the shed to the base and what fixings do you recommend?

• how do you handle damaged or missing manufacturer parts and any warranty work?

• do you provide a written quote and estimated start and completion times?

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure a level, firm base is ready or ask for a quote to level the area

• check door and gate widths and remove obstacles for panel access

• reserve parking near the site and tell the tradesperson about permit restrictions

• unwrap and check delivery on arrival so damaged items are logged with the supplier

• keep pets and children away during assembly and ensure safe storage of sharp fixings

• ask about PPE and contamination handling if removing old treated timber or mouldy materials
