Scope of Works

• Inspect hinge, screw fixings and door for wear or stripped holes

• tighten or replace screws and refit hinge plates

• repair or insert fixings for stripped screw holes

• replace broken, bent or missing hinges with matching concealed or butt hinges

• adjust door alignment, gap and soft-close mechanisms where fitted

• remove and refit door where necessary for hinge cup replacement or realignment

Typically 30–90 minutes on site for a single wardrobe door; 2–4 hours for multiple doors or if doors need refitting or stripped‑hole repairs

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• do you carry common concealed and butt hinges plus fixings

• what is included in the call‑out fee and when is travel charged

• do you offer a guarantee on hinge replacement and adjustments and for how long

• will you need to remove shelves or contents and do you charge extra for that

• if parts are not available how long would a follow‑up visit take

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear clothes and contents and give 1–2 m working space

• check parking or let the fitter know about restricted access

• tell the tradesperson about tall, built‑in or back‑to‑back wardrobes and any stairs

• have a sample hinge or the old part available if you can to speed up matching

• mention building or flat management rules and any required permits in advance
