Time on Site

1–3 days for a typical 30–50 m² garden.

Extra time if: ground requires deeper excavation, access is hand-carry only, drainage crates are added, or weather delays compaction/bonding.

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

  1. What pile height and fibre type do you recommend for kids/pets, and can I see samples?

  2. Is waste removal, sub-base and edging included in the quoted price per square metre?

  3. How do you handle joins and what warranty do you give against seam failure or lifting?

  4. Will you install additional drainage if the soil is clay-heavy?

  5. Do you hold public-liability insurance covering accidental damage to patios or utilities?

  6. How long should I keep off the lawn after installation?

  7. Are maintenance visits (infill top-ups, power-brooming) available and at what cost?

How to Avoid Surprises

  • Access & Parking: Reserve driveway space or permit for skip/digger; flag narrow side passages.

  • Underground Services: Mark sprinklers, cables and shallow drains before excavation begins.

  • Working at Height: Inform installer if grass must be craned over walls.

  • Weather Contingency: Wet conditions can delay compaction—agree a fallback date.

  • Pets & Kids: Keep off the area until infill is brushed and adhesive has cured.

  • After-care: Confirm you’ll receive a maintenance sheet and off-cut for future repairs.
