Scope of Works

• inspect boot lock and surrounding trim for damage

• identify lock type (barrel, latch or actuator) and check central locking

• remove interior trim to access lock mechanism if required

• replace lock cylinder or actuator with matching part supplied or sourced

• cut or programme replacement keys/remotes on site if needed

• test boot operation, tidy work area and wear appropriate PPE

Most replacements take 30 minutes–3 hours on site depending on whether it's a simple barrel swap or a replacement actuator and key coding are needed; parts availability or corroded fixings can extend this

• do you supply parts or should i source a replacement lock

• will new keys or remotes be supplied and can they be coded to my vehicle

• do you have experience with my car make and model

• what's the warranty on parts and labour

• are any extra charges likely (coding, batteries, specialist tools)

• will you need to see proof of ownership or for me to stay with the car

How to Avoid Surprises

• park vehicle close to work area and ensure space to open the boot

• clear loose items from the boot and rear seats

• have the vehicle battery charged so central locking can be tested

• check parking permits or access rules for communal or gated estates

• confirm which keys/remotes you have and bring any spares

• agree beforehand whether the tradie will supply parts or order with your approval
