Scope of Works

• survey van and wiring to locate existing alarm, immobiliser and battery connections

• plan sensor and tracker placement to avoid roof racking and toolboxes

• fit alarm control unit, door contacts, tilt/motion sensors and GPS tracker as agreed

• route and secure cable looms, connect to battery with inline fuse and isolate circuits safely

• test system functions, perform walk-through of arming, panic, and tracker reporting

• tidy panels, label fuses and provide user codes and brief handover

Most installations take 2–5 hours on site depending on kit and complexity; simple alarm plus tracker 2–3 hours, vans requiring roof units, racking removal or bespoke wiring 4–6 hours

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• is the proposed kit compatible with my van make/model and existing electrics

• what warranty and insurance cover do you provide for installation and parts

• will I need an ongoing subscription for the tracker and what does it cost

• how will you protect interior panels and tool storage during installation

• do you isolate the battery and what PPE do you use when working on live circuits

• how do you handle software pairing, SIM activation and post‑fit support

How to Avoid Surprises

• make van available with keys and clear interior access to panels and battery

• remove heavy tools or secure racking that blocks sensor or tracker locations

• ensure off‑street parking or let tradesperson know about permits and restricted access

• confirm who provides SIM/subscription and whether you need to stay for activation

• notify engineer of any company policies, telematics or warranty conditions that affect fitting
