Scope of Works

• confirm vehicle make, model and key type (standard key, transponder, smart key)

• verify proof of ownership and ID before cutting or programming keys

• cut a physical key blade where required and fit transponder chip

• programme remote fob and immobiliser/ECU to the vehicle where possible

• test the new key/fob on the vehicle and show you operation before leaving

• provide receipt, warranty details and advice on spare/key security

• can you cut and programme this exact key/fob for my make, model and year

• what proof of ownership do you need and will you accept a digital photo of documents

• will you programme the immobiliser/ECU on site or does it need dealer equipment

• is the price a fixed quote and what circumstances add extra charges

• do you provide a warranty and what does it cover (cutting, programming, battery)

• do you charge for mileage or out‑of‑hours work and how long will the job take

How to Avoid Surprises

• have vehicle registration, VIN or key code and proof of ownership ready

• ensure clear access and room for a locksmith van; arrange parking if needed

• make sure vehicle battery is charged and steering lock is removable where possible

• ask up front if dealer‑level coding or ECU work is likely as that may need a workshop visit

• agree payment methods and get a written estimate before work begins
