Scope of Works

• inspect existing headlight assembly and electrics for faults and corrosion

• remove old bulb or complete headlamp unit and check connectors

• fit replacement bulb or headlight unit, using OEM or agreed aftermarket parts

• reseal gaskets and check for damp ingress; replace clips or seals as needed

• test wiring, headlight adjustment and beam pattern; carry out ECU coding if required

• clear dashboard fault codes and run road test to confirm operation

Most headlight jobs take 30 minutes–2 hours depending on whether only a bulb is changed or a full unit and bumper removal are required. Heavy corrosion, difficult access or ECU coding can extend a job to 2–4 hours and parts delays can add days

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• do you use OEM or aftermarket parts and can i see part numbers?

• is coding or headlamp alignment included in the price?

• will you disconnect the battery and what PPE do you use?

• what warranty do you provide on parts and labour?

• do you include disposal of old bulbs/units and control modules?

• if my vehicle needs bumper removal will there be extra time or cost?

How to Avoid Surprises

• park on level ground with space for the fitter and clear access to both sides

• confirm parts and expected arrival time to avoid abortive visits

• provide keys and immobiliser info and ensure battery is charged

• move pets and keep children away from the vehicle during work

• check for access restrictions or permits for kerbside parking

• note known corrosion or previous accident damage that may affect fit
