Scope of Works

• inspect tail light lens and housing for cracks and water ingress

• check bulbs, LED modules and sockets and replace faulty items

• test wiring, earth points and connectors for corrosion or breaks

• remove and refit lamp unit, replace gasket and reseal to prevent leaks

• code or reset control modules where replacement lamps trigger faults

• carry out a functional check of brake, indicator, reverse and fog lights

Most tail light repairs take 20 minutes–2 hours on site. Simple bulb changes typically take 20–40 minutes; removing and replacing a full lamp, repairing corroded wiring or performing coding can take 1–2 hours. Time increases with seized fasteners, water-damaged wiring or if parts need ordering

• have you worked on my vehicle make and model before

• do you carry common bulbs and LED modules or will parts be ordered

• will you disconnect the battery and follow electrical safety procedures

• do you provide a parts and labour warranty and what does it cover

• will coding or ECU work be needed and is that included in the price

• can you provide a written estimate that separates call‑out, labour and parts

• what happens if you find additional wiring damage or body corrosion

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure vehicle is accessible, keys are available and handbrake works

• clear the boot and area around the lamp so the tradie can work without delay

• tell the tradie about parking restrictions or estate permits in advance

• ask whether required replacement LED units are in stock for your model

• confirm arrangements for safe disposal of old bulbs and contaminated parts
