Scope of Works

• jack and safely support the vehicle and remove the rear road wheels

• inspect rear suspension, mounting points and identify which bush(es) need replacement

• press out or unbolt worn bush and install new bush kit (OEM or specified aftermarket)

• replace any corroded bolts, apply correct lubricants and torque fasteners to manufacturer settings

• refit wheels, lower vehicle and road test; recommend wheel alignment if geometry likely changed

• contain and remove grease/contamination and use appropriate PPE when working on brake and suspension areas

Most rear suspension bush replacements take 2–4 hours on site for a typical hatchback or saloon; time increases if bushes are seized, the subframe must be dropped or parts need ordering

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• have you replaced rear bushes on my make and model before

• will you press the bushes in situ or need to remove the subframe

• is wheel alignment included or should I book that separately

• what parts will you fit (brand/part number) and what warranty applies

• do you charge by the hour or offer a fixed price and what is included in the call-out

• what warranty do you provide on labour and related components

How to Avoid Surprises

• book a flat, level parking space with room to work and confirm parking permissions

• have keys available, ensure handbrake and immobiliser can be managed and battery is charged

• tell the tradie about lowered suspension, previous rust or known seized bolts

• arrange wheel alignment in the same visit or book it in advance to avoid extra trips

• remove loose items from the boot and rear seats and secure pets away from the work area
