Scope of Works

• Inspect windscreen wiper blades, arms, linkages and mounts for wear or damage

• test wiper motor, washer pump and electrical circuit for faults

• replace worn blades, damaged arms or linkages and refit where possible

• remove and replace wiper motor or gearbox if faulty and accessible without major dismantling

• test operation, check sweep and washer function, and provide a brief report and warranty details

Most simple blade or arm replacements take 20–40 minutes; diagnosing electrical faults or replacing motors and linkages typically 1–2 hours. Delays come from sourcing parts, difficult access (garage or roof), or needing further diagnostics

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• do you provide a written estimate and a parts warranty?

• will you replace with OEM parts or aftermarket alternatives and what is the price difference?

• do you charge a diagnostic fee or is it included in the call-out?

• can you source parts same day or will the vehicle need to stay off the road?

• do you work on-site (mobile) and what access or parking do you need?

• what safety precautions do you take when working at height or on electrical components?

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and reachable from both sides

• tell the tradie about any previous repairs, corrosion or water ingress around the wiper area

• allow space for parking and let the tradie know if entry to a private car park or gated area needs a pass

• check whether the tradie needs to isolate the vehicle battery or follow site safety procedures

• discuss access to specialist parts ahead of the visit to avoid return trips
