Scope of Works

• isolate caravan/motorhome electrical systems and remove negative earth if required

• test existing battery with voltmeter and load tester to confirm replacement need

• remove old battery safely with PPE and battery handling kit

• fit new leisure battery (lead‑acid, AGM or lithium as agreed), secure in box or tray and connect correct polarity and fuses

• check on‑board charger, solar regulator and vehicle charging setup for compatibility and adjust settings if needed

• conduct final voltage and load checks, remove waste battery for recycling and advise on care and charging

Most replacements take 1–2 hours including tests and secure fit; factors that extend time include hard‑to‑reach battery locations, need to reconfigure charging system for lithium, or waiting for parts

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• what battery type and capacity do you recommend for my vehicle and why

• will you check and adjust the charger/solar regulator settings for the new battery

• do you provide a warranty and what does it cover

• will you safely remove and recycle the old battery and is that included in the price

• do you need access to the vehicle electrics or vehicle keys and will you need me to isolate any systems beforehand

• are there any additional costs for fitting lithium or changing battery management systems

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear access to the battery compartment and provide keys if needed

• tell the tradie about any recent electrical issues, inverter faults or solar additions

• confirm parking and access arrangements to avoid extra travel charges

• check if lithium is an option and ask about required BMS or charger upgrades beforehand

• secure pets and remove loose items around the work area
