Scope of Works

• Inspect armchair frame and existing upholstery to confirm padding type and extent of replacement

• carefully remove covers and foam to assess springs, webbing and frame condition

• supply and fit replacement foam cores (cut to shape) and Dacron or fibre wrap as requested

• repair or replace webbing/springs where visible failure affects comfort or safety

• reassemble and refit covers, test cushion fit and basic comfort adjustments

• remove and responsibly dispose of old padding and small amounts of upholstery waste

• advise if full reupholstery, fabric replacement or major timber repairs are needed (quoted separately)

Most armchair padding replacements take 1–3 hours on site depending on access and whether springs or frame repairs are needed

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• how long have you been replacing armchair padding and can you share examples

• what foam densities and grades do you recommend for this chair

• will you need to remove covers or have the chair in your workshop and for how long

• do you offer a warranty on the foam or workmanship and what does it cover

• what happens if you find rot or major frame damage once covers are removed

• will you remove and dispose of old materials and is there an extra charge

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear a working area and remove fragile items from around the chair

• tell the tradie about stairs, narrow doorways or lifts before booking

• confirm parking or loading arrangements to avoid extra travel charges

• check fabric availability if you want replacement covers and provide swatches if possible

• advise the tradie of pets or allergies so they can use appropriate PPE and dust control

• agree in writing what is quoted and how additional repairs will be approved
