Scope of Works

• Inspect frame, springs and webbing to diagnose sagging or structural damage

• repair or reinforce wooden frame joints and replace broken dowels or glue

• replace or re-tie webbing and fit new springs or spring clips

• replace foam inserts or top up seat and back cushions with new foam or fillings

• restitch torn seams, replace zips or piping and repair small fabric damage

• remove and refit legs or recliner parts and advise if full reupholstery is needed

Most on-site repairs for a single sofa take 1–4 hours depending on whether webbing, springs or foam need replacing; cushion refills or simple stitching can be done same day; full reupholstery is normally off-site and typically takes 2–4 weeks including collection and return

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• do you carry out work on-site or take sofas to a workshop

• can you show examples or photos of similar repairs and provide references

• will the quote include parts and labour broken down and any call-out fee

• what warranty do you offer on repairs, parts and workmanship

• will you need to move the sofa and do you include pickup and delivery in the price

• what safety and cleanliness measures do you use (ppe, dust sheets, floor protection)

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear access and measure doorways and staircases before the visit

• reserve parking nearby or tell the tradie about permits and restricted zones

• remove fragile items and keep pets out of the work area

• agree fabric, foam density or colour matches in advance and supply samples if you have them

• check disposal options and any extra charges for bulky waste or workshop collection

• get a written estimate and a clear schedule for collection and return for off-site work
