Scope of Works

• inspect the chair to assess frame, springs, webbing and foam

• remove old fabric, fastenings and internal fills; label parts for reassembly

• repair or reinforce timber frame and tighten loose joints

• replace or repair springs and webbing and secure to frame

• cut and fit new foam or fibre fillings to match original comfort level

• supply and fit new upholstery fabric, sew seams and refit trimmings and legs

• clean area, dispose of waste and advise on care; use PPE when handling dust and adhesives

On‑site patch repairs or re‑cover of a single armchair usually take 1–3 hours; full reupholstery carried out in a workshop is typically 1–3 days including drying and return visits. Factors that extend it include major frame repairs, bespoke fabric ordering, pattern matching and limited access.

• what is the estimated turnaround and can you confirm lead times for fabric

• do you give a written quote listing labour and materials

• how do you protect floors and fabrics during the job

• what warranty do you offer on repairs and new upholstery

How to Avoid Surprises

• measure doorways and staircases and tell the tradie about tight access

• arrange parking or a loading bay for pickup or deliveries

• choose and order fabric before work starts and allow extra for pattern matching

• clear the work area, remove valuables and keep pets out of the room

• check building rules for communal blocks and confirm disposal arrangements
