Scope of Works

• Inspect frame, springs and webbing and record measurements

• strip out old fabric, foam and fixings for workshop assessment

• carry out structural repairs to frame, springs and joints as required

• cut and fit new foam, batting and chosen fabric with pattern matching where needed

• sew and attach trims, piping, buttoning and finish upholstery to a neat standard

• return, refit and tidy the item on site, including light cleaning and protective covering

On-site estimate visits usually take 30–60 minutes; most reupholstery is done in a workshop and turnaround is typically 2–6 weeks depending on complexity and fabric lead times; collection and delivery per item normally take 30–90 minutes

• can you show before-and-after photos of similar pieces you have reupholstered

• do you work from a workshop or on-site and where will the work be carried out

• what fabrics and foam grades do you recommend and can you supply samples and costs

• are collection and delivery included and what are the timings and charges

• will I receive a written estimate with labour, materials and any extras itemised

• what warranty do you offer on repairs and workmanship

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear access and remove breakables from the route

• confirm parking or loading space for collection and delivery

• choose and order fabric early — special-order fabrics add weeks to lead times

• tell the upholsterer about pet hair, odours or mould before work starts

• check any building rules for working hours, vehicle access or move-in restrictions
