Scope of Works

• Inspect footstool and leg mounts for damage or loose fixings

• Measure and identify thread size or attachment type to match replacements

• Remove existing legs safely using appropriate tools and PPE

• Supply and fit replacement legs (wood or metal) with screws, brackets or glue as required

• Repair or reinforce leg mounting points (dowels, blocks or brackets) to restore stability

• Light sanding and touch-up finish to help match existing colour if requested

Most simple footstool leg replacements take 30–90 minutes on site; custom matching, structural repairs or workshop bench work can extend to 2–4 hours. Factors that extend time include difficulty removing old fixings, having to source bespoke legs, glue curing or limited access in tight stairwells

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear a flat workspace and protect flooring with a sheet or mat

• confirm parking and access, and mention stairs or narrow doorways beforehand

• have any replacement legs, photos or measurements to hand to avoid delays

• tell the tradie about pets, building access rules or noise restrictions that might affect timing

• agree finish expectations and whether stain/paint drying or glue curing time is included
