Scope of Works

• Inspect cushion covers, zips and seams and check foam condition and frame attachments

• remove existing cushions from furniture and label positions for reassembly

• measure and template cushions for cutting replacement foam or fillings

• cut and fit new foam (specify density) and replace fillings such as fibre or feathers if requested

• re-sew or replace covers and refit with zips, Velcro or piping as required

• test fit, final trim and tidy the work area; handle and dispose of contaminated foam safely if present

Single loose-seat cushion replacement typically takes 30–60 minutes; a three-seat sofa refoamed and partly re-covered 3–6 hours depending on complexity

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• what foam density and thickness do you recommend for this seat and why

• do you supply and fit new covers or work to customer-supplied fabric

• will you need to remove frames or springs and does that add cost

• do you offer a warranty on foam, stitching or workmanship and how long

• how will you protect floors and clean up; any additional disposal charges

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear access and remove fragile items from the seating area

• measure doorways and stairwells if sofas need moving for offsite work

• have your preferred fabric ready and confirm pattern repeat and yardage with the tradie

• confirm parking or loading arrangements for the trades van and any large deliveries

• tell the tradie about pets or allergy concerns; expect dust and the use of PPE during foam removal
