Scope of Works

• Inspect frame, folding mechanism, slats and mattress support for wear or damage

• tighten or replace loose bolts, screws and fixings

• lubricate hinges and moving parts and test the open/close action

• replace worn straps, slats or the folding mechanism where necessary using manufacturer or compatible parts

• repair small upholstery rips, reattach fabric panels or advise on reupholstery if needed

• remove and responsibly dispose of irreparable mattress or broken parts if requested

• carry out final safety checks and demonstrate correct operation to the customer

Time on Site

Most sofa bed repairs are completed in 1–3 hours on site. Replacing a folding mechanism typically takes 2–4 hours while full reupholstery or mattress replacement may require collection and return or several days offsite. Factors that extend time include restricted access, rusted fixings and waiting for ordered parts

• Have you repaired this make or model of sofa bed before

• Can you source manufacturer parts and how long will they take to arrive

• Do you offer a warranty and what does it cover

• Will you test the sofa bed several times and show me safe operation

• Are there extra charges for stairs, narrow access or parking permits

• How will you protect my flooring and upholstery while you work

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear a 1m working area around the sofa and remove small items

• reserve nearby parking or tell the tradie about restrictions

• take photos of the damaged areas and note brand or model details

• keep pets away during the repair and move fragile items

• ask the tradie to check parts availability before the visit to avoid delays

• notify reception or management of flats about noise or access if required by building rules
