Scope of Works

• Inspect frame, bed mechanism and corner connections for damage

• Remove cushions and inspect foam, springs and webbing

• Strip old fabric, label panels and decide whether work is done in situ or at a workshop

• Repair or replace frame fixings, springs, webbing or bed mechanism as required

• Provide new foam, wadding and fit chosen fabric, piping and trims to original shape

• Reassemble cushions and bed mechanism, test operation and tidy work area

Most corner sofa bed re-upholstery projects take 2–5 days from collection to re-delivery; on-site recoveries can be completed in 1–2 days for simpler jobs. Factors that extend time include complex frame repairs, bespoke foam or fabric lead times and poor access

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Do you do the work on-site or in a workshop and will the sofa need collection

• Can you provide fabric samples, and do you charge for cutting or pattern matching

• What is included in the quote (foam replacement, cushions, piping, zips, re-gluing) and is VAT included

• Do you guarantee the work and what warranty is offered on fabric and labour

• Will you check and repair the bed mechanism and test it before re-delivery

• What access, parking and floor protection do you need and are there extra charges for stairs or narrow lifts

How to Avoid Surprises

• Measure doorways, stairwells and lifts and tell the tradie about any narrow routes

• Agree fabric, foam density and finish in writing and ask for lead times for special orders

• Clear the area and protect floors; confirm parking and vehicle access for collection or re-delivery

• Ask about dust and odour control and whether the team will use PPE when handling old padding

• Check building rules for communal blocks about after-hours delivery or skip placement
