Scope of Works

• Remove and inspect faulty hinges and brackets

• Assess frame and fixing points for damage

• Fit replacement hinge(s) or hinge kit and secure fixings

• Adjust mechanism and test sofa bed opening, folding and locking

• Replace worn bolts, washers or brackets and report if frame repair is needed

• Clear work area, remove small debris and demonstrate operation to you

Most sofa bed hinge replacements take 1–2 hours on site; jobs take longer if multiple hinges, upholstery needs partial removal, the frame is corroded or a follow-up visit is required to order special parts

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Can you supply the correct hinge kit and show the parts before fitting?

• Do you charge a separate call‑out fee and how is travel calculated?

• Will you fix on the day or could parts need ordering and a return visit?

• How do you handle upholstery or frame damage discovered during work and what are approximate costs?

• Do you carry PPE and will you protect flooring and nearby upholstery while working?

• What warranty do you offer on parts and labour?

How to Avoid Surprises

• Provide clear access and remove cushions and small items from the sofa

• Measure doorways and tight corridors if access to move the sofa is needed

• Let the tradie know if you have pets or building access restrictions in flats

• Agree disposal of old parts and any additional charges for hidden damage before work starts

• If parts may be needed from the manufacturer, ask about lead times and whether you will be charged for a return visit
