• remove cushions, detach legs, arms or modular sections using appropriate tools

• protect upholstery and floors with covers and use PPE when handling soiled fabric

• pack and secure loose parts for transport and label large sections for reassembly

• reassemble on site, align cushions, check fixings and test any reclining mechanisms

• will the job need two people, and is that included in your quote?

• do you charge for stair carry, narrow access or vehicle parking time?

• what disposal options and charges do you offer for the old sofa if required?

• how will you protect floors and upholstery, and do I need to provide anything?

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear access routes and remove obstructions the day before the appointment

• reserve a parking space close to the property if possible or confirm loading restrictions

• tell the tradie about stairs, narrow doors, lifts or height limits in advance

• secure pets and ensure someone is present with keys and any necessary permissions

• check building rules for communal blocks and notify the tradie about lift sizes or corridors

• agree disposal and any extra charges in writing before work starts
