Scope of Works

• Remove sealed bags and boxed items from rooms and communal areas

• Load and secure items into the vehicle and transport to a licensed facility or charity

• Sort items on site into reuse, recycling and landfill and isolate hazardous items (batteries, paint) for separate handling

• Provide lift-and-carry service including manoeuvring up/down stairs where safe; two-person lift for heavy items

• Leave the work area broom‑clean and stack any boxes you want retained as instructed

• Provide paperwork for disposals (waste transfer note) where required and remove waste to licensed facilities

Most small jobs (a few bags or boxes from one room) take 30–90 minutes; multi-room clearances or garages/lofts typically take 2–4 hours

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Are you insured for public liability and do you cover lift-and-carry work

• How do you charge — call‑out, hourly or per van load and what is included

• Do you provide a waste transfer note and where will removed items be taken

• Which items do you not remove (asbestos, fridges with refrigerant, gas cylinders, tyres)

• How many crew and what vehicle will you bring for my access and stair situation

• Do you charge extra for stairs, long carries, storage-room waits or parking permits

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear access: move cars, unlock gates and communal doors

• label boxes you want kept and separate fragile or hazardous items

• measure doorways, stairwells and parking to confirm vehicle access

• check with building manager about loading bays, permits or restricted hours

• keep pets restrained and tell the trader about any health risks (mould, sharps)

• have payment ready and ask for paperwork (waste transfer note, receipt)
