Scope of Works

• survey access and parking to plan safe removal of heavy items

• two-person team to lift, manoeuvre and load sofas, mattresses, white goods and construction waste

• disassemble large items where necessary and make safe for removal

• protect floors and doorways with covers and use straps to secure loads

• transport waste to authorised transfer or recycling facilities and pay disposal fees where applicable

• PPE used for operatives and contamination handled to waste-regs standard (mattress soiling, builders' rubble)

• leave site tidy and provide waste transfer note or receipt on request

Small single-item removals typically take 45–90 minutes on site; multi-item house clearances or waste from small renovations usually take 3–6 hours or more. time increases with stair carries, narrow access, parking restrictions and specialist disposals

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you licensed to dispose of hazardous items and do you handle fridges or asbestos-containing materials

• do you provide an itemised written quote showing disposal fees and labour

• how many operatives and what size vehicle will attend

• do you provide a waste transfer note or receipts for disposal

• are there extra charges for stair carries, dismantling or long carries to the vehicle

• what payment methods do you accept and when is payment due

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear routes and remove small obstacles from doorways and stairwells

• reserve or signpost parking close to property for the removal van

• declare bulky or hazardous items in advance (fridges, freezers, batteries, asbestos) so they can price and prepare

• remove personal belongings and empty appliances before arrival

• check communal rules or permits for working in flats and inform building management where needed

• ask for a waste transfer note and keep proof of disposal
