• dismantle bed frame where required and package loose parts

• carry items to vehicle including stair carry if applicable

• dispose of mattress and frame at licensed facility or via council bulky waste

• use PPE and sealed bags if contamination or pests are reported

• provide waste transfer note on request for commercial disposals

Most single mattress and simple frame removals take 20–60 minutes on site; jobs requiring dismantling, multiple items or long stair carries take 1–3 hours or longer

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• do you include disposal fees in the quote or charge separately

• can you dismantle and refit bed frames and is there an extra charge

• how do you handle items with bedbugs, mould or contamination and do you use sealed bags

• what parking or access will you need and do you require permits for restricted streets

• are you insured and can you provide a waste transfer note for commercial disposal

• will call‑out fees be deducted from the final price if I proceed

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear a route from room to exit and measure doorways if tight

• reserve or advise on parking to avoid waiting charges

• tell the tradie about stains, pests or mould before the visit

• check building rules for bulky waste or concierge requirements in flats

• remove bedding and small items from the mattress to speed up the job
