Scope of Works

• Confirm items, floor level and access route during booking.

• Arrive with van or truck, supply protective sheets, and photograph items for duty-of-care record.

• Dismantle or door-remove oversized pieces (e.g., wardrobes, settees).

• Carry items to vehicle, segregating recyclables (metal, WEEE, wood) from general waste.

• Provide waste-transfer note showing destination facility and weight band.

• Sweep collection area, replace any removed doors, and process payment/POS receipt.

Time on Site

30 min – 2 hours for most domestic loads. Longer if items need dismantling, there’s no lift for upper floors, or parking is distant from the door.

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

1. Are you licensed with the Environment Agency as an upper-tier waste carrier?

2. Will I receive a duty-of-care waste-transfer note showing disposal site?

3. Is the quoted price fully inclusive of labour, disposal fees and any permits?

4. Do you recycle white goods, metal and wood separately to reduce landfill?

5. How many flights of stairs are included before surcharges apply?

6. What happens if the load volume or weight is higher than estimated on the phone?

7. Can you collect hazardous items (paint, fluorescent tubes) and at what extra cost?

   
   

How to Avoid Surprises

• Access & Parking: Reserve a bay or visitor permit close to the entrance.

• Item List: Send photos and accurate counts in advance to lock the price.

• Lift Working: Check communal lifts are operational or note extra stairs.

• Disassembly: Loosen bolts on large furniture before crew arrival.

• Permits: Arrange skip licence or council bay suspensions ahead if needed.
