Scope of Works

• remove all packaging and protective film from assembled items

• collect loose screws, fittings and small parts and leave them with the client

• sweep and vacuum floors and remove dust from nearby surfaces

• wipe down visible marks and spot clean scuffs from walls or flooring

• bundle and remove flat cardboard and small packaging or leave for recycling per client instruction

• inspect assembled items for visible damage and report any issues to the client

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• do you include packaging removal and a tidy-up in the quote

• do you charge by the hour or a fixed fee for cleanup

• will you remove cardboard to kerbside or do you take it away (any disposal charges)

• do you carry public liability insurance for accidental damage during cleanup

• do you bring your own cleaning materials and PPE

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear floor space and move fragile items out of the work area

• confirm parking or building permits for tradespeople to avoid delays

• tell the tradie about narrow stairs, lifts or tight doorways in advance

• agree disposal expectations up front (kerbside, client recycling or tradie removal)

• keep pets and children clear of the work area for safety and quicker cleanup
