How to Avoid Surprises

• clear external areas such as compost heaps and dense leaf build-up where slugs shelter

• ensure easy access to affected rooms and external walls and flag narrow alleyways or locked gates

• arrange nearby parking or tell the tradie about permit restrictions

• advise if pets are present or any areas are off-limits

• check whether building regulations or listed-status rules restrict external sealing or drilling

• provide mains power or lighting if required for external elevated checks
