Scope of Works

• arrive with a van, tools and protective sheets

• assess mattress and bed frame for disassembly or safe carry

• dismantle frame where required and bag small fixings

• carry items out, negotiate stairs and tight corners using appropriate straps

• protect floors and doorways and place mattress in sealed bag if contaminated

• load and transport to licensed disposal or arrange charity collection on request

Most single mattress and basic frame removals take 30–90 minutes; disassembly or multiple items typically take 1–3 hours. Tight stairs, narrow corridors or lift protection will extend the time.

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• do you include disposal in the quote or is it extra

• do you charge per flight of stairs or for long carries

• can you provide a waste transfer note or proof of disposal

• will you donate reusable items or take them to a charity on my behalf

• are you insured for damage during removal and can you share your policy details

• what happens if the mattress is contaminated with pests or bodily fluids

How to Avoid Surprises

• measure mattress and frame and note access widths

• clear hallways and remove obstacles before arrival

• arrange parking or loading space close to the entrance

• tell the team about stairs, tight turns, lifts or low ceilings

• flag any stains, pests or contamination so crews bring sealed bags and PPE

• check building rules for bulky waste or communal removal restrictions
