Scope of Works

• Inspect model and condition to check for hazardous fluids or damage

• isolate power and water supplies and disconnect hoses if onsite removal is required

• drain residual water and secure loose parts before moving the appliance

• carry appliance to vehicle and load for transport to an authorised recycling facility

• provide WEEE paperwork or a waste transfer note where applicable

• use PPE and follow contamination controls for leaked water, detergents or oils

Most collections and recycling jobs take 15–45 minutes on site for single‑storey access; stair carries, tight access or needing two operatives can extend this to 1–2 hours

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you registered to handle WEEE and can you provide a waste transfer note

• is disconnection, draining and the carry included in the quoted price

• will you remove from inside the house and are stair carries or narrow corridors charged extra

• what disposal fee do you charge and is that full recycling or landfill risk

• do you carry insurance for damage during removal and can you provide references

How to Avoid Surprises

• check and confirm parking or loading restrictions with the tradie beforehand

• measure doorways, hallways and stair widths if the appliance is inside

• tell the tradie about anything heavy, bolted or damaged to avoid time delays

• confirm they will issue a waste transfer note or receipt for recycling

• inform building management or neighbours if access requires permits or lifts
