Scope of Works

• Inspect bed type, mattress condition and access (doors, stair width, tight corners)

• Protect floors and mattress with covers and use lifting straps where needed

• Dismantle frame components (slats, rails, headboard, feet) and bag small fixings

• Carry mattress and components between rooms or to van; two people for doubles/king beds or stairs

• Reassemble in the destination room, check and tighten fixings, fit any replacement bolts supplied

• Remove and dispose of unwanted frame or mattress items if requested (additional charge)

Most single‑property bed dismantles and reassembly take 1–2 hours; larger beds or moves between properties take 2–4 hours. Factors that extend time: multiple flights of stairs, very narrow doorways, rusted fixings or the need to strip and bag contaminated mattresses

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Do you bring two people for doubles/king beds or stairs

• Is call‑out included and what does your quote cover (dismantle, carry, reassemble, disposal)

• Do you supply replacement fixings if original bolts are damaged and is that charged separately

• How do you handle mattress protection and what if the mattress is damp, mouldy or pest‑infested

• What disposal options do you offer and what are the fees for mattress recycling

• Do you need parking, loading bay permits or access codes and who arranges them

How to Avoid Surprises

• measure door frames, stair widths and ceiling heights and send photos before the visit

• clear hallways and remove small furniture and fragile items from the route

• confirm available parking or loading bay permits to avoid parking fines or long carries

• tell the tradie in advance if the mattress is damp, mouldy or has pests so they bring appropriate PPE and covers

• check building rules for moving large items (flats may need lift booking or concierge approval)

• have cash or card for agreed extras and provide a clear contact number for arrival
