Scope of Works

• assess vehicle and pedestrian access and advise on parking or skip needs

• collect household rubbish from inside and garden waste from outside

• cut and gather grass clippings, tidy edges and bag green waste

• load, secure and transport waste to a licensed transfer station or dispose into a hired skip

• separate recyclables where possible and report hazardous items (batteries, paint, asbestos) for specialised handling

• use PPE for contamination risks (gloves, boots, masks) and leave the area swept and tidy

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• do you provide a written quote and what is included/excluded?

• how do you charge — per hour, per van load or fixed price?

• are you licensed to dispose of waste at transfer stations and can you provide receipts?

• can you handle hazardous items (batteries, paint, asbestos) and how will these be charged?

• do you need reserved parking, a skip on site or permission to access communal areas?

• what PPE and contamination controls will you use for household waste?

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear narrow gates, move bikes/planters and make a clear route to the vehicle

• reserve parking or a loading bay if the van needs close access

• point out hazardous, bulky or heavy items before work starts

• check which items are recyclable and which need special disposal arrangements

• secure pets and keep children away from the working area
