• Clear leaves and debris from paths, patios and drains to prevent blockages

• Trim hedges to agreed height and remove green waste for disposal

• Minor fence repairs, gate realignment and secure loose panels where safe

Most routine maintenance visits take 1–4 hours depending on garden size and agreed scope; full clearances or multi-task jobs can take 1–2 days. Factors that commonly extend time include heavy overgrowth, restricted access (narrow side passages), poor weather, discovery of pest issues or additional repair work and waiting for disposal arrangements

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Are you insured for public liability and can you provide a copy of the policy?

• What exactly is included in the written quotation and which items would be charged as extras?

• Do you remove green waste and rubbish or should I arrange a council collection or skip?

• Will you bring required tools and PPE, and do you need external water or power access on site?

• How do you handle unforeseen repairs or significant additional work and will you get authorisation before continuing?

How to Avoid Surprises

• Ensure clear access and reserve nearby parking for the crew and vehicle

• Point out external water taps, power sockets and any fragile features before work starts

• Secure pets and let the tradie know about any nest sites or pest histories

• Agree disposal method and location for green waste and any fees before work begins

• Check for planning or communal estate rules on tree and hedge work and get permission if required
