Scope of Works

• inspect and measure the lawn area and take photos to record condition

• remove moss, thatch and annual weeds by scarifying or hand raking

• top dress low areas with screened topsoil and compost and level hollows

• overseed with an appropriate seed mix or lay turf to agreed specification

• roll and lightly compact new turf or seed beds and apply starter fertiliser

• remove arisings and dispose of green waste; provide aftercare advice and schedule

Typical small lawn upgrades (scarify, top dress, overseed) take 2–6 hours; re‑turfing a medium garden can take 1–2 days depending on ground prep and drying time. Factors that extend duration include poor drainage, large area, restricted access, need to remove old concrete or heavy waste, and prolonged wet weather

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• do you recommend seed or turf for my garden and why

• what exactly is included in your quote (materials, labour, disposal) and what is extra

• how will you handle poor drainage or compaction if found during work and who pays

• do you provide a warranty or aftercare visit and what does it cover

• will you need vehicle access/parking on my property and are there any access charges

• what PPE and contamination controls do you use when handling soil, compost and fertiliser

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear furniture, pots and toys from the work area before the tradie arrives

• confirm parking and vehicle access for deliveries and machinery

• tell the tradie about buried services, sprinklers or concrete under the turf

• arrange a water supply if required for turfing and agree weather contingency days

• secure pets and keep children away from freshly laid seed or turf
