Scope of Works

• Inspect garden and assess size, access and types of weeds to remove

• Hand weed beds and borders and remove roots where possible

• Use mechanical tools (strimmer, chipper) for large areas and woody growth as agreed

• Apply spot herbicide if requested and compliant with local guidance

• Collect green waste and either load to van, take to recycling centre or hire a skip as agreed

• Wear PPE and segregate contaminated material, and advise if specialist disposal is needed

Small front or back garden clearance and light weed removal: 1–3 hours; medium garden up to 100m² or heavy growth: 3–6 hours; factors that extend time include dense or woody growth, poor access, large volumes of waste, repeat herbicide treatments and wet weather

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• What exactly is included in the price (hand weeding, herbicide, removal, tidying)

• How will you dispose of green waste and what are the costs for skips or additional trips

• Do you use herbicides, which products and when is re-treatment needed

• How many operatives will attend and do you have public liability insurance

• Will you need running water or a power supply on site and do you need vehicle access to the garden

How to Avoid Surprises

• Clear access routes and unlock gates on the day

• Arrange parking for a van or ask about permit restrictions nearby

• Protect plants or features you want kept and point these out before work starts

• Let the tradie know about buried services, compost heaps, rubbish or suspected hazardous items

• Keep pets and children away from the work area and confirm any pesticide use beforehand
