Scope of Works

• Inspect garden and agree scope including areas to keep and remove

• cut back overgrown shrubs, prune hedges and remove self-seeded growth

• mow and edge lawn where accessible and tidy borders

• collect, bag and remove green waste; larger volumes may require a skip or tip fees

• sweep and tidy hard surfaces; pressure washing offered as an extra

• identify hazards (broken paving, contaminated soil, wasp nests) and advise on further work and PPE requirements

Most small garden cleans take 2–4 hours; medium gardens are typically 1 day; very overgrown or multi-level gardens can take 1–2 days. Factors that extend time include large volumes of waste, poor access, wet weather, tree work requiring an arborist, or discovery of hazardous materials which require specialist removal and additional PPE

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you insured and licensed to carry garden waste; can you provide a waste carrier number

• what exactly is included in the quotation and what is priced as an extra

• how will green waste be disposed of and are tip or skip charges included

• do you need parking, site access or stair/rail permits and will there be parking charges

• how do you handle hazardous finds (asbestos, contaminated soil, wasp nests) and what PPE will you use

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear a working route and ensure gates are unlocked for arrival

• confirm parking arrangements and any permit or meter payments beforehand

• secure pets and cover any delicate plants you want to keep

• tell the tradie about any protected trees or neighbours' boundaries that affect work

• agree waste removal method (taken away, left in bags, skip) and any extra charges in writing
