Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Do you have public liability insurance and can I see a certificate?

• Will a trained arborist lead the job and what qualifications do they hold?

• How will you manage waste and what is the disposal charge?

• Will you need scaffolding, a cherry picker or a stump grinder and what will that add to the quote?

• Are there any tree preservation orders, conservation area rules or planning consents required?

• How will you protect fences, lawns, greenhouses and neighbouring property during work?

How to Avoid Surprises

• confirm vehicle access and parking space for vans or trailers

• point out overhead cables, garages, greenhouses and delicate plants to protect

• clear vehicles, children's toys and pets from the work area before arrival

• agree where arisings will be stacked and whether you want chippings left

• check for TPOs or conservation area restrictions and tell the tradie before they quote
