Scope of Works

• inspect site and identify bamboo species and extent

• cut and remove above‑ground canes to ground level

• dig out accessible rhizomes and roots and remove arisings

• apply licensed systemic herbicide to regrowth or cut stems where required (PPE and signage used)

• install root barrier or trench and backfill if requested or necessary

• clear and dispose of plant material and tidy affected area

Small clump removal typically takes 2–4 hours; medium patches usually 1 day; large or deep infestations may need 1–2 days or multiple visits over 4–8 weeks for herbicide follow‑up and monitoring.

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• what method will you use (mechanical removal, herbicide, root barrier) and why

• do you guarantee regrowth control and for how long

• will you remove rhizomes fully and inspect neighbouring boundaries for spread

• what materials and PPE will you use and are the herbicides approved for garden use

• how will you dispose of cuttings and do you include waste removal in the quote

• are you insured and do you have a waste carrier registration for larger removals

How to Avoid Surprises

• show the tradie the full extent of the bamboo and any neighbouring spread before work starts

• clear a working area and arrange parking close to the site where possible

• warn neighbours if boundary plants will be removed or treated and check for shared roots

• tell the tradie about watercourses, ponds or drainage near the bamboo so they can choose safe treatments

• keep children and pets away during treatment and removal and ask about post‑work re‑entry times
