Scope of Works

• inspect bushes and driveway access to agree trimming and weed removal extent

• prune and shape shrubs, remove dead wood and reduce overhang onto driveway

• mechanically remove weeds from driveway joints and edges and spot-treat persistent growth where agreed

• clear and bag green waste and garden debris for removal or arrange skip/council collection as requested

• protect adjacent surfaces and vehicles, sweep driveway and tidy site on completion

• check for nesting birds, wasp nests or buried services and use PPE when handling treated weed areas

Typical job time is 2–5 hours for a small suburban front garden and driveway; larger or heavily overgrown sites can take a full day or more

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• do you have public liability insurance and can you show evidence

• what methods will you use for weeds and do you use approved herbicides or mechanical removal only

• is waste removal included and how will green waste be disposed of

• do you need to close the road, use traffic management or hire a scaffold/MEWP for high work

• can you provide a written quote breaking down labour, materials and disposal costs

• will you check for nesting birds or vermin before trimming and what PPE will your team use

How to Avoid Surprises

• give clear access and move cars from the driveway before the tradie arrives

• tell the tradie about boundary disputes, underground services and any retained plants to protect

• check parking and traffic restrictions for vans and whether a permit is needed for roadside work

• secure pets and notify neighbours if work will be noisy or block shared driveways

• agree waste removal and whether green waste is taken away or left for council collection
