Scope of Works

• Survey the garden and agree which areas and plants to cut back

• cut back overgrown hedges, shrubs and low branches to agreed heights

• remove brambles, ivy and climbing growth from fences and paths

• thin small trees and remove cuttings; advise and stop if arborist work is needed

• collect, chip where possible and remove green waste, or leave arisings if requested

• wear PPE and flag suspected invasive plants or contaminated waste for specialist handling

Small front or back garden typically 1–2 hours; medium garden 2–5 hours; very overgrown or large sites may take a day or more. Factors that extend time include poor access, dense brambles, ivy-covered walls, need for an arborist or scaffolding, and bad weather

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you insured for public liability and for working at height

• does the quote include green waste removal, skip costs and disposal fees

• will you need me to clear access, book parking or arrange a permit for a van or skip

• do you expect to find invasive species or diseased trees that need specialist treatment

• what equipment will you use and will you need space for machinery or a chipper

• can you provide a written quote showing what is excluded and how extras are charged

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear access and a parking space for a van or small truck

• mark boundaries, drains and any buried services before work starts

• secure pets and cover furniture or delicate plants you want to keep

• agree disposal method and confirm if a skip permit or neighbour access is needed

• tell the tradie about suspected invasive plants or hazardous materials before work
