Scope of Works

• clear overgrown borders and beds and remove surface weeds

• mow, edge and tidy lawn areas and remove moss where requested

• prune shrubs and trim hedges to agreed shape and height

• remove green waste, load to van or place in agreed skip/chipper and leave site tidy

• apply agreed weed/moss treatments or reseed/lay topsoil and mulch small areas if requested

• identify any tree work, major drainage or pest issues and provide a follow‑up quote for specialist work

• carry out work wearing PPE and manage contamination risk from mould, animal waste or chemicals

Routine maintenance to a small front or back garden: 1–3 hours; full clearance of an overgrown garden: 4–8 hours to 1–2 days depending on size and waste volumes

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you insured for public liability and for working on my type of property

• how will green waste be disposed of and are skip or chipper costs included

• do you expect to need specialist kit (stump grinder, cherry picker) or an arborist and what extra would that cost

• will you use chemical treatments and can you provide product names and safety guidance

• who will attend and how many operatives will be on site

• is the quote fixed and does it include VAT, travel and disposal

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear access and book parking close to the garden

• point out plants or features to keep and mark boundaries

• secure pets and children away from the work area

• tell the tradie about nesting birds, protected trees or unusual drainage issues

• confirm who removes waste, where it is taken and any additional disposal charges

• provide access to a tap and power if possible to speed work up
