Scope of Works

• inspect lawn area, measure levels and check drainage

• mark out gradients and high/low spots for regrading

• remove turf and surplus soil or cut down high areas where required

• import and spread topsoil/topdress to achieve required falls and level

• aerate or spike compacted areas and overseed with agreed seed mix

• apply starter fertiliser and perform a light roll where appropriate

• clear and tidy site, remove waste and advise on aftercare and follow-up

Small gardens up to c.50 m² typically 1 day, medium gardens 50–150 m² 1–2 days, larger or extensive regrading 2–4 days; weather, soil moisture, access and amount of spoil to remove can extend this

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• what seed mix and preparation do you recommend for my soil and shade conditions

• are topsoil, seed and fertiliser included in the quote or supplied separately

• do you offer a germination guarantee or a follow-up visit and what does it cover

• what machinery will you use and what access or parking do you need on the property

• how will you handle disposal of spoil and any unforeseen extras

How to Avoid Surprises

• provide clear vehicle access and space for deliveries and machinery

• confirm parking or loading restrictions and any permit requirements

• check there is an outdoor tap and power available or tell the contractor if not

• move furniture, pots and play equipment off the lawn before work starts

• tell the contractor about buried services, contamination or drainage issues in advance
