Scope of Works

• Remove annual and perennial weeds by hand and with hand tools from beds, borders and paved areas

• Use a hoe or weed puller for larger patches and clear weeds from path joints

• Spot-treat persistent roots with garden-approved weedkiller if requested and safe to use

• Collect arisings and place in garden waste sacks or agreed disposal container

• Tidy edges and trim back light overgrowth to improve appearance

• Use PPE (gloves, goggles) and advise on pet-safe product options

Most front garden weeding jobs take 1–3 hours on site; larger or badly overgrown gardens can take a half day or more. Time is extended by garden size, deep perennial roots, restricted access or steps, high volume of green waste to remove, and wet weather

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• How long have you been doing garden maintenance and weeding

• Will you use herbicide and if so which product and is it pet and child safe

• Who will remove the green waste and is disposal included in the quote

• Do you charge by the hour or a fixed price for the whole job

• Can you access the front garden with a wheelbarrow or do you need parking directly outside

• Do you bring your own tools, PPE and waste sacks

How to Avoid Surprises

• Clear parked cars and leave a route for wheelbarrows or a vehicle

• Reserve parking or tell neighbours if a van needs to be parked nearby

• Point out fragile plants, irrigation points, electric gates and buried services

• Let the trader know about pets and keep them indoors while work is carried out

• Agree disposal method and where green waste will be left or taken

• Confirm if chemical treatments are allowed under any estate or local rules
