Scope of Works

• isolate water supply and protect surrounding surfaces

• remove existing bath taps and check condition of flexible hoses and stop valves

• fit new taps, washers and fittings; replace isolation valves if required

• pressure test for leaks, check hot and cold flow and adjust seating

• seal around fittings and tidy site, removing old parts and packaging

• advise on warranty, follow‑up parts or further remedial work if corrosion or hidden damage found

Most tap changes take 1–2 hours on site including testing and tidying; longer if isolation valves are corroded, tiles must be cut away or access is restricted

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you registered or qualified for domestic plumbing and do you have public liability insurance

• do you supply the taps and fittings or should i buy them and are they covered by a warranty

• what is included in the call‑out fee and will disposal be charged separately

• what happens if you find corroded stop valves or hidden pipework that needs replacing

• how long is the workmanship guarantee and do you provide any manufacturer guarantees in writing

• will you use PPE and protect floors and baths during the work

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear the area under the bath or basin and give easy access to service pipes

• check with the tradie whether they need the exact tap model or you should supply it

• arrange parking nearby and advise of restricted access for flats or narrow streets

• let the tradie know about pets and lock them away during the visit

• ask in advance about permits or building rules if you live in a leasehold property
