• inspect and clear driveway drains; operatives use gloves and eye protection and will report contamination concerns such as ticks or rodent waste

Most tidy‑ups take 1–3 hours for a small front garden and driveway; larger or heavily overgrown areas can take 4–8 hours or more depending on access, number of operatives and whether power‑washing or chipper/skip hire is needed

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Do you include green waste disposal and skip hire in the written quote?

• How many operatives will be on site and what estimated hours do you allow for my job?

• Is power‑washing included or charged as an extra and do you need a water supply on site?

• Do you hold public liability insurance and can you provide a copy or policy number?

• Will you need vehicle access, parking or a permit for a van or skip, and where would you place it?

• How do you protect delicate plants, paved surfaces and neighbouring property during work?

How to Avoid Surprises

• leave clear parking or arrange a permit for the tradie van

• confirm where green waste or a skip can be placed and check any communal rules

• tell the tradie about narrow gates, steps or low branches before the visit

• ensure access to a water supply and power socket if you want power‑washing

• secure pets and protect or move delicate pots and plants out of the work area
