Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you insured and can you provide public liability cover details

• what timber and fixings do you use and do you treat or guarantee the timber against rot

• is planting included or do you supply plants only, and what grade of plants will you use

• how will you handle waste and is disposal included in the quote

• will you need to dig footings or use concrete and how does that affect the price and programme

• what access, parking or neighbour notifications do you need to complete the job

How to Avoid Surprises

• check access and reserve nearby parking or a loading bay for materials

• mark or notify the tradie of buried services or gas/water routes before digging

• check planning or leasehold restrictions for fences and boundary works in advance

• confirm who supplies plants and whether delivery timings affect the schedule

• clear the area of personal items and secure pets before work starts

• agree waste removal and a tidy-up standard before work begins
