Scope of Works

• Remove weeds from beds, borders and paving, pulling roots where possible

• Prune shrubs and herbaceous perennials to shape and remove dead growth

• Trim hedges and neaten edges along paths and lawns

• Deadhead and clear spent growth, plus light tidy of borders and mulching if agreed

• Collect, bag and remove green waste or leave in agreed location for council pickup

• Report any diseased plants or pests and advise on follow-up work (no treatment without sign-off)

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Are you insured for public liability and waste removal

• What exactly is included in the quote — labour, disposal, materials and call‑out

• Will you use herbicides or other chemicals and can you provide COSHH/safety information

• How will green waste be handled and is there an extra disposal charge

• Do you need permission for any protected trees or to prune over a neighbour’s boundary

• Can you confirm start time, estimated duration and payment terms

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear access and parking for a small van or trailer

• mark plants or areas to keep and point out fragile paving or buried services

• confirm whether green waste is to be removed off-site or left for council collection

• tell the tradie about pets, water taps and any gates that need unlocking

• mention nesting birds or protected trees before booking to avoid seasonal restrictions
