Scope of Works

• inspect garden access, levels and any obstructions

• remove green waste, branches, turf and general garden rubbish and load into vehicle

• separate recyclable wood and note any hazardous or contaminated material for specialist disposal

• transport waste to a licensed transfer station or arrange skip hire and provide disposal receipts if requested

• prepare agreed areas and lay woodchip (supplier or client-provided) to the agreed coverage and depth

• clear up, sweep paths and leave a tidy, safe site; operatives will use basic PPE where required

Most small garden clearances with woodchip laying take 3–6 hours. Larger gardens, restricted access, heavy items to remove, need for a skip or wet weather can extend this to a day or more

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are woodchips included in the quote or will i need to supply them

• how many square metres will the quoted quantity cover and to what depth

• is disposal included and will you provide a waste carrier or tip receipt

• do you have public liability insurance and a waste carrier licence for green waste

• what extra charges apply for difficult access, long carries or removal of non-organic items

• how do you handle invasive species or suspected contaminated soil

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear vehicle access and book a parking space if required

• remove or point out valuable pots, garden furniture and hidden services

• confirm who supplies the woodchip and the exact product before work starts

• check for any building or estate rules on skips, working hours or neighbour access

• advise the tradie of pets and children and agree a safe working area

• get confirmation of disposal method and any extra charges in writing before work begins
