Scope of Works

• remove loose green waste such as grass cuttings, hedge trimmings and leaf litter

• cut back and tidy shrubs and low branches, reduce overgrown borders and tidy edges

• clear out shed contents, bag small debris and sort items for recycling or donation

• remove paving moss and tidy paths, light pressure washing can be included if agreed

• bag up and remove waste, separate recyclable green waste from general rubbish

• use gloves and suitable PPE when handling waste and report any suspected contamination or hazardous items

Most small garden tidies take 2–4 hours; medium clearances can take a full day or more and very large jobs may run over several days. factors that extend time include restricted access, large volumes of waste, shed clearance, the need for skip delivery or specialist machinery, and poor weather

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you insured for public liability and waste removal

• what exactly is included in the quote (labour, disposal, skip hire, materials)

• how will you dispose of green waste and can you provide a waste transfer note

• do you need any permits or council consents for skip placement or bulky waste collection

• will you bring a second person or specialist equipment for heavy items such as stumps or slabs

• can you provide references or photos of similar clearances you've completed

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear access and a nearby parking space for a van or skip

• remove valuable or fragile ornaments and potted plants before arrival

• tell the tradie about sheds, chemicals or suspected asbestos before work starts

• point out any buried services if digging is planned and confirm who will check them

• agree where waste will be stored during the job and whether the tradie will remove it from site
