Scope of Works

Small garden trims typically take 1–3 hours, medium gardens or established hedges 3–6 hours, and very overgrown sites or multiple hedges can take 1–2 days; factors that extend time include restricted access, large volumes of woody waste, nesting birds, and additional tree or stump work.

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• do you charge a call‑out or a time‑based rate and can you give a written estimate

• are waste removal and chipping included or charged separately

• do you have public liability insurance and can you provide a copy

• will you check for nesting birds or protected species before working

• what equipment will you use and will you need vehicle access or parking close by

• how do you handle any unexpected work such as disease, major deadwood or root issues

How to Avoid Surprises

• confirm clear vehicle access and a nearby parking spot for the van or trailer

• mark pot plants, irrigation valves and buried services before work starts

• tell the gardener about pets, children and fragile garden features

• check for bird nesting season (Mar–Aug) and expect possible delays

• agree where arisings will be left, composted or removed and any disposal charge
