Scope of Works

• Inspect garden and discuss priorities, access and plant preferences

• Mow and edge lawns, scarify or feed where required

• Prune shrubs and trim hedges to agreed shape and height

• Clear beds and borders, remove weeds and prepare soil for planting or turfing

• Supply and plant new shrubs, bedding plants, turf or seed as agreed

• Apply mulch or topsoil and tidy paths, patios and hard surfaces

• Remove green waste and sweep site; follow PPE and contamination handling for compost and soil

Small maintenance jobs typically take 1–3 hours; medium jobs such as re-turfing or large clearance can take a full day or 2–3 days for complex landscaping; wet weather, access restrictions and specialist plant orders will extend time on site

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Confirm public liability insurance and ask for recent references

• Ask which materials and plant varieties are included and who sources them

• Check whether green waste removal and tip fees are included or charged extra

• Confirm team size, expected start time and how long the job will take

• Ask about safety measures for working at height and use of pesticides or herbicides

How to Avoid Surprises

• Ensure clear access to gates, paths and the area to be worked on

• Reserve a parking space nearby or confirm where the team can load and unload

• Tell the tradie about pets, pond locations and buried services before work starts

• Agree in writing what materials are supplied, who sources them and any lead times

• Check for local restrictions (conservation area, protected trees) and organise any permissions required
